Our DNA will forever be reflected in the Valeriola Palace, a rehabilitation filled with art.
The new Hortensia Herrero Art Center (CAHH) in Valencia has completed its construction after years of intervention.
Our windows, lattice screens, jambs, and skylights are now part of the art that unifies the historic building.

“The rehabilitation of the Valeriola Palace building has been carried out ‘as if it were a microsurgery job,’ with the main objective of preserving its original identity to the maximum extent, respecting pre-existing elements and spatial configuration…”

AX Ferro, the series behind this project.
A product that manages to unify, with a single language, all the possibilities of an architectural project.

Aluminum as the sole material
At Alumilux, we proposed the use of a single material for this project: aluminum, for all windows, frames, and exterior lattice screens. The more common choice for projects of this type is steel, as it is generally regarded as a more noble material.
However, we advocate for aluminum in high-quality craftsmanship and do not hesitate to use it when it enhances the architects' proposal.

This element gather the vast majority of technologies and configurations applied in the project, enhancing the power of the Palacio Valeriola rehabilitation.
Consisting of a four-meter-high sliding door, a casement without lower framing, a jamb, and two aluminum lattice screens.
All the upper and lower framing of the window is concealed, ensuring an absolute connection between the interior and exterior.

Our work becomes the canvas for his
The new Hortensia Herrero Art Center has dedicated one of the finest rooms in the museum to exhibit the works of the renowned artist Sean Scully, becoming the stage for his latest masterpiece.

For the founder of CAHH, Hortensia Herrero, it was crucial to place the Valencians themselves at the center of the project, bringing to the city collections of globally recognized artists such as Anish Kapoor, Georg Baselitz, Andreas Gursky, or Anselm Kiefer.

This project has involved over 5 years of work during which the iconic building has been adapted to become a leading Contemporary Art Center.
According to the architects' experience, one of the main challenges of the project has been to design a continuous route that provides a comfortable and enjoyable experience for visitors, allowing them to navigate easily.
